Sustainability at BOWA – Responsibility in Every Ink

Since its founding in 1998, sustainability has been a core focus at BOWA GmbH. We develop, produce, and supply Thermal Inkjet (TIJ) inks that not only impress with their technical performance but are also manufactured in an environmentally responsible and REACH-compliant manner.

Environmentally Conscious Production in Germany

Short Distances, Great Impact

We produce exclusively in Germany and deliberately keep supply chains short to reduce emissions and conserve resources. Our 3-day express production avoids unnecessary warehousing, and all shipments are sent CO₂-neutral with DPD.

ISO-Certified Environmental & Quality Management

Systematic Responsibility

For us, sustainability is more than a promise; it is certified and verifiable. BOWA operates according to an integrated management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 (Quality) and DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 (Environment). These standards guarantee:

  • ZTransparent & Traceable Processes
  • ZContinuous Improvement
  • ZHigh Product Safety & Traceability

Sustainability is not a project – it is our standard.

Sustainable Materials & Safe Ingredients

Free from Hazardous Substances – Tested & Documented

All BOWA inkjet inks comply with the REACH Regulation and contain no SVHC substances (Substances of Very High Concern). The conscious avoidance of toxic ingredients has been part of our corporate philosophy since our founding. Our inks are:

  • ZSafe for People & Environment
  • ZChemically Stable & Low-Emission
  • ZOptimized for Food & Pharmaceutical Packaging

Innovation Through Responsibility

Sustainability in Research & Development

Our research department continuously works on resource-saving ink formulations and new sustainable alternatives to conventional solvents. In doing so, we combine technical performance with ecological responsibility.

One example: our BOWA Bioprint inks, made from renewable raw materials (bioethanol), ideal for food labeling and environmentally conscious applications.
